Recipe: Rice Crispy Treats with Chocolate and Butterscotch Topping
1 c. sugar
1 c. light Karo syrup
1 c. peanut butter
6 c. Rice Krispies
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1 (6 oz.) pkg. butterscotch chips
Heat sugar and Karo syrup on stove top over med heat until mixture starts to boil.
Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter until melted. Stir in Rice Krispies (I find it's easiest if you add them 1-2 cups as a time, it makes stiring easier).
Spread krispies into a 9 x 13 pan and press them down and let cool.
Next melt chocolate and butterscotch chips (I do it on the stove top some prefer microwave, bonus if you have a double boiler), stir plenty and don't let them burn!
Pour melty goodness over the krispie mixture and let cool. Prepare to have a stomach ache from eating too many.
